In order to create more equal distance between the stops, improve the speed and even movement of public transport, from November 1, 2021, passengers on bus route No. 5 will be served at the stops “Līduma Street” and “Motor Museum” (when driving in the direction of the final point “Mežciems”). Whereas, on trolleybus route No. 14 and bus route No. 16, passengers will be served at the stops “Tālivalža Street” and “Laimdotas Street” (when driving in the direction of the final point “Mežciems” and ““Jugla” Paper Factory”).
These stops are located within one block from the other stop, which passengers will be able to use as an alternative in the future, passengers do not need to cross additional crossroads and traffic safety will not be not impaired (for example, for schoolchildren and other categories).
In accordance with the guidelines for assigning stop names approved by the Riga City Council Commission for Licensing Commercial Transportation of Passengers, the names of the nearest streets or crossroads, names of settlements or their local names, names of significant infrastructure objects, parcel or building numbers or building names are used when assigning names to the stops.
With the change of the names of the stops, the traffic schedule plates, the voice announcements of the stops and the names of the stops on the internal display in public transport and on the road signs of the stops will be changed accordingly.
